I am European AI Policy Lead at the KIRA Center, an independent think tank.

I work towards a world where control over frontier AI is democratically distributed, rather than concentrated in a single actor (whether that's a company, a government, or AI itself). I advise policymakers on AI policy, with a focus on how European countries can remain sovereign and competitive in the age of AI while protecting the public from harm.

My current work focuses on computing infrastructure, frontier model access and AI sovereignty for middle powers.

I was a Core Writer of the 2025 and 2026 International AI Safety Report, backed by 30 countries and international organizations and the largest global collaboration on AI safety to date. Recently, I also co-authored Europe 2031 – a 5-year scenario of the continent's slide into irrelevance, how AI is driving it, and what can still be done to change course.

My academic background is in philosophy and economics, which I studied in Bayreuth, Oxford and Berlin. In 2022, I finished my PhD in philosophy at Humboldt University Berlin.
